Objective by the Sea – Code of Conduct & Event Behavior Policy The Objective-See Foundation is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all attendees, speakers, trainers, volunteers, and staff at Objective by the Sea (“Conference”). By registering for and attending, you agree to comply with this Code of Conduct. Organizers will enforce this code throughout the event, and we expect full cooperation from all participants to help ensure a safe environment for everybody. ⸻ The Quick Version Our conference is dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity or expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof), or technology choices. We do not tolerate harassment of participants in any form. Sexual language and imagery are not appropriate for any conference venue, including talks, workshops, parties, Discord, Twitter/X, or other online media. Participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the conference without a refund, at the discretion of the organizers. ⸻ The Longer Version 1. Respectful Behavior • Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion, technology choices, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, harassing photography or recording, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention. • Participants asked to stop harassing or disruptive behavior are expected to comply immediately. 2. Drugs & Alcohol • Illegal drugs are strictly prohibited. • Alcohol may be served at official events, but excessive consumption or unsafe behavior will not be tolerated. 3. Safety & Well-Being • Weapons, dangerous objects, or hazardous materials are not allowed at the venue. • Attendees must follow all venue safety rules and emergency procedures. • Smoking/vaping is only permitted in designated outdoor areas. 4. Recording & Media • Attendees consent to being photographed, filmed, or recorded by the Foundation for archival and promotional purposes. • Personal recording of talks or trainings is permitted only with the explicit permission of the speaker/trainer. 5. Compliance with Laws & Venue Rules • All attendees must comply with local laws and venue regulations. • Any illegal activity will be reported to the appropriate authorities. 6. Enforcement • Conference organizers may take any action deemed appropriate, including warnings or expulsion from the conference without refund. • Serious violations may result in banning from future Foundation events. 7. Reporting & Support • If you are being harassed, notice someone else being harassed, or have any concerns, contact a member of the staff immediately. Staff can be identified by branded clothing and/or badges. • Staff will help participants contact hotel/venue security or local law enforcement, provide escorts, or otherwise assist anyone feeling unsafe. • To report an issue or find immediate support, contact Patrick Wardle at +1 (808) 783-7416. ⸻ Governing Law This Code of Conduct and its enforcement shall be governed by and construed under the laws of Spain (location of the 2025 Conference).
